Mary’s Meal
“Education & food” is the key motto for development and alleviation of poverty. Children from the most deprived sections are given food and education in a formal and non-formal class-room set up. The purpose of the mary’s meal programme is to ensure that every child gets access to education. Food, service as an incentive to the hungry children to come to the class-room.
It gives children the sustenance they require, not just to service, but to concentrate, learn, grow and develop healthily. In this way mary’s meals builds a ladder out of poverty as the children receive education. It increases the opportunities for dropout in regular attendance, good health and joy.
Catholic Charities Jamshedpur with the support of BREAD, Noida, New Delhi is providing help to 12 Schools in West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan. Total number of children benefited through Mary’s meals are: 5162
